Actually that's a use of centripetal force. the flip along with the extended leg grants you a bit more momentum and thus force to the kick, plus deflecting it means less pressure to the hit. So scientifically, it makes sense...

Disappointed with the writer once again, Japan need better authors.

It's not the writer's fault. It's the japanese government. Haven't you ever wondered: Why are most anime MCs nice guys, who believe in saving the world and never getting revenge no matter how deserving it is?

The answer is: The japanese government basically understands a lot of teenagers watch anime and so they try to avoid anime main characters who are what society would define as "evil" or morally ambiguous. That's why they make every MC the same old save the world type, revenge is bad, act like a clown, save every woman, etc. They are just grooming the teenagers in the hopes they all act like that.

If you've ever read manwha, you will notice the difference immediately. A lot more MCs are fricking cold. And things are more realistic. In anime/manga, the MC who got tortured for 17 years and gains power will not get revenge because revenge is bad! But that doesn't really occur in Manwha/Manhua. Most MC's are brutal and strive for revenge.

The only downside of Manwha/Manua is, they rarely animate them. So your only options are reading.
